I didn’t think a full hog would compost , much less a stack of hogs !

That is both amazing and frustrating at the same time.
That's not far from my north pole on the prairie location and this mess is crippling the small producers and hurting the larger operations significantly as well.
If I wanted to make drug dealer money I'd squat in a machine shed with $200 worth of marketplace stainless steel tables and butcher surplus hogs non stop and have a partner sell them off of farmers markets and marketplace. But, the government would toss me in jail and take everything I own if I competed against the $5 a pound ground sausage supply chain shortage they created.
Apologies for the rant. I can't wait to be in the Republic full time.

I just installed my new Tactacam Reveal SK, and got my first picture from it. I'd like some guesses on weight and age of this hog.

Are you thinking about being composted?

Are you thinking about being composted? Not really; just trying to have some fun!

I never compost them. I run them through the local buzzards for guano.

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.
Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

Most of the times they will completely disappear within just a couple days or so in my area.

The time it takes for a hog to 'disappear' varies, but I shot this one in the morning last summer and cut the back straps and hindquarters off. I then dumped the carcass about 8:30AM. When I returned to the area six hours later this is what was left —
I have two unwritten rules: 1. 2.

That's what happens on the place I hunt. The buzzards and Mexican eagles eat them in a day or two.

Our get cleaned out within days, similar to the picture above. Even the smaller bones get dragged away by critters, usually you're left with a skill, scapula and maybe a femur bone or two....
