 Squirrel Hunting in January?

I'm here in Denton area and wondering if any areas not too far off would hold good squirrel hunting in January after deer season? Was thinking of trying the Caddo Bois D’Arc Unit public area out East of here, just west of Paris, TX. Any ideas or tips would be helpful, thanks! Looking to take my son, and not too far of a drive out there.

Our land is pretty close to the Gov land. There should be a bunch of squirrels to be had.

Find a pecan orchard and ask to hunt for them. I have one close that they love it when I kill some of them.

Jeez it's been way too long since I hunted and fished up there....in the '60's Look at the Lake Crockett area north of Honey Grove aka Syrup City, especially west before you get to the Girl Scout Camp. Several places up there I've hunted Squirrel & ducks in years past especially on the south & west side of the lake to the west of Lake Crockett. You can get a map & pertinent info mailed to you from the office....ummm in ? Decatur. Get a phone # from one of the big sign in Sign's or mebbe from the Wal Mart spt gd's guys in Bonham or Gainesville. Check out Lake Cooper too.
