I guess I lived in Oklahoma for too long, there isn’t a damn thing about that state that makes me want to return.

Right now, about the only place I’d consider moving to is Arizona. I’m tired of the cold

My dads side of the family was all from Oklahoma, up near the Kansas border.

The ouchita mountain area is pretty. I didn’t mind that country.

I love Arizona though. Up around Show Low is one of my favorite area of the country. Ain’t very many ways to make a living up there however

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Buddy bought 40 acres near Showlow to retire. White Mountains. Pretty nice, but kinda remote. He’s up around 6500 feet. He’s a loner, will be fine.

Only going to get worse. They are predicting the new metroplex that is Austin/San Antonio will be even bigger than DFW or Houston.

Dad was from Enid, I'm from Tulsa. not much going on in Enid, but a nice little town. Would live in Tulsa again. Norman is the a hole of the state. you couldn't pay me to live there.

Property tax for retirees

If our boys settle around here I guess we'll stay, but given a choice I think we'd move back to Lafayette, tax difference is huge. My dad's property tax on 2 acres/2500 sq ft house was $1,800 a couple years ago.

We moved to The Mound after a 2 year stint in NW AR and before that a 3 year stint in Little Rock. There is no money in the world could get me back to LR, I could be persuaded, maybe, to go back to the NW corner (we were in Springdale).

Springdale or Rogers for me. Love the area.

Yes, Sir.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.
