You always hear about the bad people do on public, but Sunday we decided to try again but went more prepared with some blinds and decoy sled thanks to Judd. Well, we made the walk in and got to the water's edge to see a boat sitting in the spot we were headed too. So, we turned left to go way down the bank and the gentleman hollard at us. After talking for a few mins, he offered for us to hunt with him in his boat since he was hunting solo and had a 18' go devil. Pretty sure the cold front pushed the birds out, but we had a good time, and sure slung the bs. Always is nice to meet another person in the hobby that doesn't take it too seriously and hate everyone. We exchanged numbers and he even invited us out for the future.

That's very cool. I'm glad you had a good time. Where did you hunt?

I've met a handful of badass dudes walking into public. I always fear the next time will be a bad encounter, but the few times I do see someone out, they've been very cool and always exchange numbers since I'm usually a solo hunter. I always enjoy the company

LOL! And post #1 too. LOLOL

I don't need to know exactly... just wondering which county or general area. I'm hoping it's in North Texas because I hear that duck hunting is pretty iffy up here on public land.

Most of the guys I hunt with regularly were guys I met randomly while scouting or hunting. Heck, I met a guy scouting a three acre wetland in Oklahoma and two weeks later we spent ten days straight in Kansas hunting and three years later he was in my wedding. The guys who are the biggest jerks are typically the ones who can’t kill anything regularly and live in fear there one spot is going to be taken over.

I've only had bad experiences public deer hunting. Just a weirdo who always set up 50 yards from me. 19,000 acres, but had to hunt the same acre as me.

I've never had a bad experience. I've had newbies that didn't know the unwritten rules but talking to them before or after the hunt usually ends positive.

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

He told you. At the water's edge,"we made the walk in and got to the water's edge to see a boat sitting in the spot we were headed too."
