Cold, clammy, and rain today. Staying just about 34 degrees. At my son's over in Sun Valley they have gotten 18" of snow in the last 24 hours, with 12" more projected. I'm happy if it keeps raining!!!

Perfect for simmering a stew all day. Ground whitetail, spicy andouille sausage, both red and black beans, stewed tomatoes, onions, celery, carrots, cubed potatoes, even some broccoli and cauliflower. S&P, and lots of Tabasco. Broiled bread slices for sopping up the juice. Mmmmnn good!!! smile

Well done. All the vegetables make for a balanced meal.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Heck, no chefin' required, you can't fail with a stew. Diced up and fried some bacon slices. Browned up the venison burger. Added diced sweet onion, garlic, and jalepenos until tender. Added a can of chopped stewed tomatoes, can of red beans and another of black beans, some small cubed potatoes, celery, carrots. Sliced and microwaved the Andouille sausage to get rid of grease, and threw in the pot. If I had some shrimp, it would have gone in too. Broke up a bunch of broccoli and cauliflower florets from a tray my wife had left over from a card party. Jut let it simmer for a couple hours while I watched it rain and snow. Ready for dinner time!!

Talked to my son and they got 38". I'm happy with 2" of rain.
