I was blessed with an invite to take my kids deer hunting in Concho County last weekend, cannot say enough good things about this group of people. My kids love to hunt and we had a blast, my 7 yr old baby girl said that Saturday was the funnest day of her life. Lots of deer came in to camp.

My youngest Son killed his first deer at 7 (big doe), but hasn't had another opportunity since. Now at 10, he just dropped his first buck with a new to us Classic Ruger M-77 in 243 that I bought from Mr Angus 1956 a little while back. Beautiful old rifle, nice trigger, floated/bedded, nice shooter that he fixed up for his Son decades ago that was living in his safe. Everything is staying just like it was on this rifle, the only thing I did was zero it with my ammo and hand it to my boy. Hey dropped his first buck with it, a nice cull 4 pointer (they split at the top). Mr Angus requested a pic of my boy with that old rifle, so here it is Sir.

Happy for you and your family. That Ruger .243 can still deliver the goods, thanks for the picture.

You're welcome Sir, thanks for the rifle. It will be used long after I'm gone, thanks again.

Yessr, they're still talking about it lol. I'm always down for some critter killin' myself, but it's more fun when there is a kid behind the trigger.

Great pictures of a great hunt

Congrats to you and your kiddos

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Awesome! Looks like a varmint barrel, making it a 77V…..do you or Angus have any history on it? I sold one in, approx., 1996 or so, would be cool if that was the same gun…..
