This is only my second year hunting around Abilene. I was wondering what everyone’s take is on the rut? I saw some chasing around Veterans Day and 1 buck in a field locked down with a doe the day before Thanksgiving. I have a couple bucks through out the day on my trail cameras but see some small bucks still together. Saw a bunch of doe in the field this weekend but nothing chasing them. I’m not sure what the mature deer are doing right now. What is everyone else seeing?

I cant get real specific on the timing but it would surely be over now.
I would figure the middle of November to a little later would be pretty close.

At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR
