This is only my second year hunting around Abilene. I was wondering what everyone’s take is on the rut? I saw some chasing around Veterans Day and 1 buck in a field locked down with a doe the day before Thanksgiving. I have a couple bucks through out the day on my trail cameras but see some small bucks still together. Saw a bunch of doe in the field this weekend but nothing chasing them. I’m not sure what the mature deer are doing right now. What is everyone else seeing?

I cant get real specific on the timing but it would surely be over now. I would figure the middle of November to a little later would be pretty close.
At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR Keep your gratitude higher than your expectations. RWH
