Wife and I were both successful in harvesting nice bucks. We bought a little place about 20 miles north of our lease in Seymour and have been mostly hunting it rather than our lease, we base out of the lease as we have a house and barn. The buck I shot had not been seen before, hers was a regular all over the place. I have to say I have really enjoyed hunting with my lease mates, they are a great group. One of the guys brought a beef tenderloin and it was superb. Although, I was busy getting the deer taken care of while everyone else was eating. No matter, as I was on cloud nine and happy to have finally put a pretty good one down. Even better was my wife was also successful rather than waiting till the last hunt of the year, like last year. My oldest daughter got a great 10 that weighed somewhere over 200lbs, the needle on the scale broke as i was lifting the back legs off the ground. My youngest put a perfect heart shot on a mature doe, DRT and we've been wacking the pigs and coyotes every opportunity as well. [Linked Image]

Great bucks!
Congrats to you both

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

the split on his right side is more of a kicker than fork......mule deer are in the same county but not in the area we hunt. His left side is more of a fork G2.

Thanks Guys cheers

Congrats! Both of those were taken off your new place? Feels good to take a deer off your own piece of dirt.

Congrats!

Yes Sir, matter of fact we(my family) haven't taken a deer off our lease yet. I have one in particular that I'll be after till season closes though.
Very satisfying feeling for sure and knowing no one can say" we won't be renewing your lease this year", is a great feeling. Although we've been lucky to be on the same lease for 22 years now.

I believe North and West of Seymour have decent populations of Mule Deer. Heck, I saw Javelina on my place last year. Saw one(mule deer) in the processor, in Seymour, last week.

Congrats all around! Keep whacking and stacking those hogs and coyotes. We are overrun with them this year.

Helicopters flew a large ranch bordering my small place and put a good dent in the Pigs and coyotes. Still seeing some coyotes, but very few pigs. Now the lease, that place is overrun with both and we always try to take out as many as we can. Its about about time to bust out the thermals and get to work all night long.
