Beautiful. God's handiwork. No better canvas than the evening or early morning sky. We get some pretty good ones in Deep East Texas too. Not as often as you guys in the South or West Texas. This pic was taken as I walked my way to a blind early one winter morning. There were storm clouds just blowing out, a cold front coming down and two layers of clouds going opposite directions.
It was an array of fiery red (Sun rays reflected on lower clouds) and dark blue and black above. I just stopped in my tracks and watched. In just minutes it all changed. That was 12 years ago and I can still see it in my mind. A 'still' picture can't convey the dynamics being played out. The clouds meshing, moving. The incredible color. The bitter cold air moving in. Can't breath. They all took my breath away X2 - skies of beauty. Here's one from North Texas the evening of December 10th. Turned back east to see the cloud build-up. Tower clouds lit up top by the setting sun & fire red below where lightning & storms were. This is the front/coupled with meeting near record heat, that spawned all the tornados & took so many lives in Kentucky. Nice. Any birds down there? There’s a few FR. It’s tough hunting, a lot of the buffle grass is waist high. A good hard freeze will be necessary to knock it down.
