Do I have to get an MOS Glock to be able to install an optic and a flashlight? I want to get a Glock 21 or 22 to do some cool modifications to and am curious if I MUST buy an MOS to do a red dot and flashlight.

Thanks for any help!

That’s going to be the easiest way to mount an optic. Other option would be to have it milled which I prefer anyways as they can get them to sit lower. A light will mount as long as it’s got a rail.

As long as there is a rail, I think gen 3 and up, a light is no problem. You don't have to buy a mos for a dot, but you need to get the slide milled or buy a dovetail mount that replaces your rear sight

Where I would get the slide milled at? Sounds better than spending the extra $100 for an MOS gun

Slide milling will cost more than $100.

Or just get the dovetail mount. That's what I'd most likely do.

You should also consider the ability to use/co-witness your fixed sights in case of failure of the red-dot.

The Gen 3 plus Glock 21 and 22 all have rails for mounting the lights. It's only some of the subcompacts in 9mm, .40 and .380 that don't have rails.

Having the slide is going to be more than buying mos. You can use the dovetail mount but personally I think it sits to high.

I’ve got a Glock 22 and quite a bit of ammo I would sell if you are looking. I bought it used and the only time I’ve shot it is for my LTC class. It is in VERY good shape. It’s not an MOS, but it has a rail. Also have some high cap rounds. I’m just north of Victoria. PM if you are interested.
