I’m surprised super duty doesn’t have one of those $5000 Stetson cowboy hats.

Never was a Stetson fan, minus their cologne in the late 80's.

Resistol is what I wear.

Nowadays it’s common for a person who has a tie to a western or rural lifestyle to wear one regardless of the ownership of bovine or equine.

I wear one probability 3-5 days a week in the winter. I have owned cows in the past but none currently and really don’t care for horses since Henry Ford made his invention. I don’t rodeo an am not sponsored by Cinch.

It keeps my head warm and keeps the Sun off my ears and neck unlike a ball cap and I’ve had one on in a few blizzards and rainstorms

It’s interesting to note that a cowboy was a rather low paying/not very prestigious position historically. It’s not something that carried around a lot of weight in its time, more like a migrant worker would today.

Just the opposite for me. Grew up with horses, few cattle. Hate cattle.

Incredibly stupid animals IMO. I'll stick with my horses.

The cows are tasty so I don't hate them and I'm stupid too so I don't hold that against them...horses are cool as long as they're in somebody else's yard to me...

Some horses when they sense an inexperienced rider will 'test you'. Other's just have bad habits that require 'correction'. wink

Not too different than people if you think about it.

I understand. And I agree we NEED cows for Milk, Leather and Meat Products...no doubt about it. I still hate them though.

And they ARE stupid animals IMO. I like to tease my Brother in Law (Cattle Rancher) that cows being stupid is both a good and bad thing.

Bad...because they are big animals and can easily hurt you or themselves. Good because a person need only be marginally smarter than a cow to raise them. grin

We go back and forth like it. It's all good natured.

When he was young, I told Dale Jr. that hunting and racing are a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be responsible.

There is something about riding on a prancing horse that makes you feel like something, even when you aint worth a thing. - Will Rogers

Love to read Will Rogers writings. A very wise and practical man.

One of my favorite sayings of his (paraphrasing): Digging Post Holes is the only job I know...where you get to start at the top.

First off no such thing as a cowboy from Colorado you met a ranch hand. Real cowboys are from Texas, Wyoming and Montana. In our family you are working cattle by the time your are six and roping shortly after that. I have 2 nephews I consider cowboys. One is horseback 6-7 days a week working for several ranches. The other graduated from A&M and runs a large ranch. Have some friends from Montana that owned thousands of acres and they wear a cowboy hat and boots every day.

I think next THF GTG, needs to be at someone’s ranch, and we need to see who the real root’n toot’n cowboys are on this forum. This will include shooting beer/whiskey bottles drawing 6 shooter from a holster, and roping cattle from a horse… smile ani

Do you tuck your jeans in the boots so you can see the elephant?
