Dumbfounded i am, but that doesn't take much sometimes. I sighted in .22 at 50 yards using CCI suppressor ready ammo, 970 fps. Was sitting at a folding table in a field with a chair. No vise or high tech stuff, just a sled. Got satisfied within a quarter and let someone else shoot it and they were close too. Got an idea to move back to truck on tailgate and shoot a few more to see if it was more steady. Well, bullet drop was 3-4 inches and it was only 10 FT! Went back to the table and back on where it was. Got flustered and just said to heck it. Cant figure out differences. Tailgate higher? shouldn't I wouldn't think. Ideas? Maybe it's just me. Not known as a sniper. LOL

Welcome to the physics of subsonic/near-subsonic rounds where nearly every single environment variable imaginable affects their trajectory. Distance, wind, elevation, humidity, barometric pressure, etc... they'll all have greater effects on slower moving projectiles.

Sled to no sled is why it changed.

Sleds, clamping rifles down create more problems than they do solutions.

It’s not external ballistics in 10’

It’s most likely your head position changing from the different shooting postures and a cheap optic

^^This

They can also destroy the internals of a scope. Rifles and scopes are made to recoil.

The gun was not clamped down to the sled in any way. The sled was picked up and put on the tailgate. It was used just to help hold it steady rather than bags of sand

Try both locations, without the sled. You won't use the sled in the field, I never understood the use of one on the range.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Hopefully it's me. I don't think its a cheap optic. It is specifically for .22 rimfire made by Tract Optics

Cheap was a distracted poor term on my part. This situation can be demonstrated with expensive glass too. I’ve seen a hundred shooters struggle with this on $1000 optics. Even high end RDS have minimum zero parallax distance.

It has nothing to do with a sled other than you were in a different shooting position sitting behind the sled on the table vs hunching over it on your tailgate.
