Shot him right at sunset. By myself so no picture with me in it to show how small bodied these deer are. 19" inside spread. By how easy it was to get him into the back of my truck I doubt dressed weight was more than 120.

Great!

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.

Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

Solid deer. The body does not look that small for that area.

60s era ParkerHale 300 winmag. 150 grain Federal ammo. Not my favorite load and more gun than I need for whitetails over a feeder 100 yards or so away, but I was able to find this ammo online(when the current shortage is over I am going to buy 1,000 rounds for all my firearms. At 74 that will last me for my "forever")

3x9 Vortex scope. I find I mostly turn it down to 6 to get reasonable field of view.

My Dad had a early '70s Parker-Hale in .30-06 with a Leupold 3X9. Great gun. I need to borrow it from my nephew for next season.

Very nice deer

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Nice buck!

Dad has a soft spot for those Parker Hale's. As soon as I saw the pic I knew what it was.
