I have to thin the population on a regular basis. The blue lacy is always on the lookout. She misses her lab buddy though, that used to catch them as they fell. frown

I shoot them in the face every time I get the chance.

One shot is all it should take.

It looks like the poll was created with allowing options instead of one choice. The OP must have forgot to add how many choices allowed or it "zeroed" out somehow in the creation.

Many naïve moons ago when I lived in a second floor apartment surrounded by Cedar Elm trees, there use to be a squirrel that would come on my balcony. Most of the time I would leave my sliding glass door open and the squirrel would come to the door but not in.

Well I started feeding it and soon it was a regular on my coffee table feeding while I sat close by.
One time I was gone for a couple of days, left the sliding glass partially open and had a big bowl of nuts on the coffee table for my friend.

When I came back that fricking tree rat had chewed up my favorite chair up, we were no longer friends bang

Don’t have many where I live. I see them everywhere else but not my place. My red healer is a terror on squirrels and snakes.

Fried, with dumplings, and squirrel meat with ramen

The rest are for trap bait. A squirrel tail is a good visual attractant

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Leave 'em for the cats. Cats climb trees or wait catoflaged in the shadows of the tree to ambush. Extra salmon treats when they catch one.

Try using your thermal for locating them in trees. It works great! Makes backyard hunting more fun.

I have 2 large pecan trees and some years I never get to eat one. This year I kept a 22 on the table next to back door. Number 9 is on the ground and Abbey has number 10. [Linked Image]

Neighbor had a previously feral cat that had kittens. Mama cat would ambush a squirrel out of the live oak tree in my yard, I guess teaching the kittens.
She would somehow skin the squirrel in one piece leaving nothing but the feet, tail, and head still attached and all in one piece and leave it on my front porch. Damndest thing I ever saw.

I probably killed around 50-70 a year with a silenced .22 pre-charged pneumatic air rifle. Without the silencer, that thing sounded like a .22 long rifle. i dialed it down to 600 FPS and with an 18gr pellet, the sound of the pellet hitting their head was louder than the shot. I could never get rid of them completely because the ones from the farther out parts of the neighborhood would always move in to replace them. At that time in Mesquite, it was legal to shoot an air rifle in your yard but I kept it clandestine because of some of the neighbors.
