I’ve always heard mixed opinions about deer moving in the rain. My personal opinion is/was that it doesn’t bother them unless it’s a heavy storm or torrential downpour.

Hunted Stephens country yesterday in light on/off rain all day. Didn’t see ANY deer moving until a few doe came out right after sunset. At this point, the rain had stopped for over an hour. Right as I glassed one of them she shook and looked like a wet dog that just got out of the lake which tells me they’d been bedded down for a while and that she just got up.

Not about to stop hunting the rain, just an interesting observation. confused2

I had more activity at my feeders yesterday than I had the preceding week combined. Granted, no one was out there.

I’ve always had good luck in light rain.

Down around Uvalde and Brackettville, there is nothing that kicks off our rutting activity like a little cold weather front, and a light drizzle!!!

Always see more game when it's crappy, cold, and misty or drizzling.

I'm praying for any kind of moisture for the ranch right now. It's drier than a popcorn fart.

I hunted in the rain yesterday and saw tons of activity. Busted a freak & a doe & saw 16 other deer.

Best hunting days are the days with miserable weather.

I adore being in the deer woods in the morning after an all night rain.

Seem to see ok movement in the light rain. In heavy rain have usually seen movement when it passes. Biggest deer we have taken on our place was shot in a sleet/drizzle on New Year’s Day.

Never had any problem seeing deer movement with light rain. WIND on the other hand (with or without rain) can be a deal breaker.

Love to hunt light rain I did yesterday afternoon and saw lots of deer moving 5 different bucks but nothing was big and mature. This morning I was hunting after a night of rain and had fog this morning the sun burned it off about 8:15 and they were moving good till I had to leave at 10:30 so those are two of my favorite conditions to hunt in.
