The "holster" will depend on which Anker battery you get. If you get one of these, you can rail mount it with a very tight fitting 1" scope ring/flashlight mount. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CU1EC6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you get something like this one, you can mount it in a saddlebag on your stock...

Those would be the cheaper options.

You could go with something commercial and really expensive such as from TNVC https://tnvc.com/shop/tnvc-thermal-remote-battery-trb/

I have one of each of the Anker batteries that DNS is talking about. The 1" rings are a tight fit but will work. For the larger battery, I used an old nylon cell phone pouch and added some velcro strips to it to strap it around the stock. Both work well and are way cheaper than 123s.

Can't answer that because I have never run one all the way down. I use the same two batteries to power my Sightmark Wraith and my Flir PTS233. I will say that the round battery is rated at 5000mah and the flat battery is rated at 10000mah. For me, they will run longer than I care to stay up at night.

What optic?

The Anker 5K "lipstick" 8k "snickers bar" or 10k "suitcase" will all get you through the night.
the 5k will give you about a full night & 1/3 minimum in decent temps with a Hogster. The 10K suitcase will run you all weekend without recharging.

If it's a Bering product using the SAIM housing you may consider the extended battery cap & 16650 rechargeable batteries if you hate cords anywhere as much as I do.

Washington will be full of honest men before I send another dollar to TNVC. There is a company called Dark Night outdoors that is selling the most reasonably priced battery and battery mount kits.

I've placed 2 orders with them and both have been satisfactory. Other than being a satisfied customer I have no affiliation.

DNS may consider getting of those Bering Focus levers from them as a Christmas gift so he doesn't have to wait so long for Ben to focus up his image in the next videos.

It's on the Dark Night web site.

AUZ and Europe have had it for well over a year but it has been real slow to catch on in the US.

No one had been importing it until the last couple months.

https://darknightoutdoors.com/extended-battery-cap-for-bering-optics-thermal-scopes/

extended SAIM housing battery cap for Bering thermals.

Looks like they sold out this weekend but have been in & out over the last couple weeks.

If you don't have a good battery charger for 3.7vdc cells the full kit isn't a bad option. I was burning through about $90 a month on cr123 after I got my REAPIR2. I know how that feels.

The up side is the kit you got from them for the 5K anker comes with a decent magnetic USB cable. A year ago reliable ones were a bear to find & I think I threw 3 amazon specials away for not being reliable enough. I have to expect they did the leg work and tested these perfect length ones out before stocking them.
