I use the work sharp on a dull knife. I use a 40 year old set of ceramic sticks ( remember the Apollo brand ) to touch things up.

Wicked Edge manual sharpener for me.

No heating, perfectly symmetrical edge geometry, scary sharp knives. And at 41 years old, I still occasionally get cut with my own knives. hammer

WS comes with 5 belts different grit. Most of the time you'll only use the last 2 or 3 belts with the finer grits. Or as BigBob said just hit it a few times with the 6000 grit honing belt to bring the edge back to life.

Good instructions come with the WS most hunting/ pocket knives are at 25 degrees, kitchen knives are at 20 degrees. You'll be sharping all knives in the house, don't forget to tell the wife everything is SHARP!
Good luck.

Yup on that read the directions, it is very easy to round off the points on knives with a Worksharp. Let off the trigger on it when the point is halfway across the belt it stops quick, if not and you drag it across the flexible belt will round off the point. Video in how to use and stopping the belt to keep from rounding off the point

then you have a sharpener to care for and maintain. belts, etc.

arkansas stone and a 10" steel.

I don't have that many knives to sharpen, a few minutes on each one doesn't matter.

Helpful as always...

Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. My Henkels are over 30 years old and sharp as a razor. Here is one of many examples of work with my bonding knife.

What work are you referring to, all I see is a fish filet…

I leave mine setup on the work bench. All knives are razor sharp.
Only takes a couple of swipes to keep an edge.

I have better things to do with my life minutes than spending hours hand sharpening.......2 minutes or less with the KO worksharp....up

Probably takes me just a few passes on the stone to get the edge back, at the most about a minute, I've never used and electric sharpener but I do like a good diamond stone pon an old dull blade. It takes more material off but when they wear down I just buy another knife. To be honest I find it kind of soothing to sit and put a fine edge on a knife.

same here , once you take the time to learn how to hand sharpen then its quick and simple , and accurate. If you want a cheap fast cutter check out the maticore sharpening stone. It cuts fast, not as fast as diamond but not close to the price as diamond either.
You can beat the old tried and true norton stone for the price and results .

I use the work sharp as well. I’m good at many things but sharpening a knife on a stone just isn’t one of them. I cut my losses and just use the WS. It works great and I’ve even used it to sharpen my lawnmower blade. Works like a charm.

My Pop always carried a small stone in his pocket and kept his knives razor sharp, he had me sharpening knives by hand when I was a little guy. He'd make a couple of passes across the stone then test the edge, then another couple and hand it to me and say "That's what an edge on a knife is suppose to be". He always carried the 3 bladed Shrades or Old Timers and I can promise you all were sharp enough to shave.

Bought one of these a while back. It’s not built as bulletproof as the wicked edge but does a great job and is about 1/5 of the cost

Utility. While most famed from use in the military, the kukri is the most commonly used multipurpose tool in the fields and homes in Nepal.
