Would building an H out of square tubing be a problem? I’ve built my fair share, but have never seen square tubing used. Any downfalls?

Wall thickness is the issue. Even 11ga isn’t all that thick.

My thought would be cost prohibitive. Hell even used drill pipe is expensive right now.

It will be at least 3/16. Probably 1/4. I’m not that worried about cost. My entrance will be square tubing, so the H braces will match. It will probably be 5 strand barb wire or possibly net wire.

That's expensive, but will make for a flashly gate and fence. Just know that might be a little bit of a pain to tie off to sq vs round. I differently would run wire on a cold day.

4"x4"x3/16" will hold up a locomotive, if the geometry of the object is right.
