Cool looking buck! What’d you shoot him with?
.300wsm. Overkill for these little deer but wanted to be prepared for a long shot if needed. Yes sir you gotta be ready for any distance.

Very nice and real interesting looking deer. I've never got to hunt there but always thought it would be really neat. Not many get the opportunity.

That lighter coloration makes him look like he's an old buck but I guess it has nothing to do with age. Congratulations! That is a nice public land trophy! I thought about a shoulder mount but I'm pretty much out of wall space. He'll be a nice euro. The light coloration seemed to run through a lot of the herd. I'm just speculating, but suspect it has to do with the lack of shade. Over time they end up with a "beach blonde" look.
