Tonight I was watching a lot of movement. I was late getting out of town, so it was almost 4pm when I got into the blind. Even as I was getting into the blind I could see I had deer in the food plot. They didn't spook. One was a decent buck but he walked off before I got situated. After the feeder went off they started running like kids to an ice cream truck. I had about 8 deer (young fork horn, spike, yearling, and 5 doe) in front of me when I see this one heading in to the feed plot/feeder. I wasn't sure at first if he was the bigger 10 I had seen or another with short brow tines. Turned out he was the bigger one though I admit after ground checking him, I thought he was bigger than he is. He's still nothing to laugh at though - 18 inch spread with 5 inch bases. He even was nice enough to come out early enough to give me time to clean him before dark.

He came off a little 100 acre place I hunt north of Loving. I love it when you see one on the cameras you want and everything aligns just right. Maybe it happens for some hunters all the time, for me while it does happen it sure isn't every year, not even close.

Nope . My son is always working these days. Maybe I can get him out there next week. That hoist in the back of the truck helps me to clean and load them thank goodness.

Thanks guys. Kind of makes up a little for last year. I had a big 12 on my cameras. I had a buck poached off the placed from the highway and figured it must be him as he was never on my cameras again. Some buttnip had shot him in the middle of a field in the corner of my place and taken nothing but the head.

I thought that was happening again last night while I was cleaning this buck. I heard what I first thought was a rifle shot from the highway, but turned out it was a trailer that had blown a tire.
