I just had a hunt fall through, so I'm scrambling. Who has a solid opportunity for a 150-160 class whitetail within a three-hour drive of San Antonio, and at what price?

Maybe a little out of your driving range, but you can try Greystone Castle. It is a pay-to-play place, cost is tiered based on score. Never deer hunted there, but I've been taken on bird hunts there and the facility is top notch.

Greystone is way overpriced, look in the outfitter and guide section

My guess is you're looking at $5K-7K for that class buck, but check out outfitters and guides as mentioned. Good Luck.

I guess I should have elaborated, I prefer just the hunt . Camping , cook my own food, etc. for this option you can spend 3500-4500 but if you prefer nice lodging and cooked meals Greystone is a good place. Just makes the hunt more expensive.

You are way late securing a lease to HUNT deer for this season. There are many options that you can shoot a deer.

You may be able to find a cancellation, just late in the season for that class of deer.

If I were you here is the man I would get in touch with. I don't think stxranchman would lead you wrong.

Exactly right

And STXRM asked these questions because the price for a 150-160" deer can vary greatly depending on the type of hunt it is.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

This place might have what you want. I went to school with the daughter years ago.

Try 4amigosranch.com in Eagle Pass. I hunted there several years ago for a Texas Dall. They have whitetail as well. Website should tell you what you need to know. Good luck.
