Just ran a serial check with the factory. It was made in 1950. Nice gun actually gifted to me. What's it worth if I wanted to sell it? I think these things actually hold some good value this old.

The Remington 721 and 700 are very similar rifles. The bolts will exchange between the two assuming you have the same action length. The 721 was designed to be a modern rifle manufactured with at the time modern manufacturing techniques but it was very crude and incredibly ugly. The model 700 was basically a better looking model 721. To the right person a 721 might be worth a premium but I liken their value to the store brand variations sold at Sears or Montgomery Ward's back in the day.

Thanks for the info. I may put it out there as a make an offer. Was hoping to pull north of $350 for it.

I have my dad's Remington 721 in 3006 with a K4 Weaver sitting on top of it classic from the old days.

The VAST majority of stock 721's in 270 and '30-06 sold on Gunbroker in the last several weeks have completed sales in the $500 +/- range, depending on condition. Your rifles condition will help control what side of that number you can sell it for. (And how bad somebody wants it.) Chambering will determine some of that value as well. 270 and '30-06 are no doubt the most common, so will command a lesser value than say, a 300 H&H or .264 WM.

That gun is worth $400 or more. Being a 270 is a bonus as most are 30-06. Good luck. (If I lived near you I would be making an offer)
