Laughing that is. Last night I was shutting down the shop and a wolf spider dropped onto my head from the overhead door. He quickly ran down my face and onto the ground. It made me chuckle. Then I thought of how many good friends would’ve died if that happened to them. 100% sure Skinnerback would’ve left skid marks leaving my shop while screaming like a girl and moving like a meth head.

I don't know how a meth head moves but, I would have probably hurt myself.
Last spider that was on my face I beat the hell out of myself. Bloody mess.
I always pay attention to shop doors for this reason. Seen spiders & scorpions fall down onto people, land on their heads & necks.
Nope.

I was walking along the edge of a loading dock when a tarantula about half the size of my hand scurried up from below and stopped right on the edge of the concreate I half a55 kicked at it...not to smash him, just knock him off the dock. He avoids my foot and ends up on my leg, about half way up my calf, crawling upwards. In the fit that followed, I ended up going off the loading doc, crashing into the fender of my car. I'm bleeding from a gash on the side of my head and from a rip in my pants leg. The car fender has a crease in it and the hubcap has been knocked off. I look up and it was back in its original position, right on the edge of the dock, like it was laughing at me. Thank God there was no video camera.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

I don't know about dying, but I would have definitely showed off my martial arts skills. Nothing gets my morning cardio out of the way like a spider web in the face.

Nope. skinner I have a good buddy who’s the same way with spiders. When we were kids drinking at the lake one night I lied and told him there was a spider on his nipple. He froze and asked me which one, so I pointed, and he open hand slapped his chest so hard it left a bruise for a week lol.

Ahhhh yes the early morning dove hunt and catching a banana spider across the face! Well, if that gets your heart pumping, you should pig hunt with us at night, on the river bottom. There is no way to avoid spiders and webs when creeping thorough the woods with NV. It's just part of if.

I may have shared before...once had a friend catch a tarantula and toss it over the curtain onto another friend who was showering. He tore the shower curtain down, broke the towel rack, and almost tore the door down trying to get away from the spider. If it would've been me, there is no question the door would have gone...

This one time......at deer camp........my buddy and I were painting the outside of the guest quarters where clients stayed. My good buddy knew I didn't like spiders, and he managed to catch a big azz banana spider on a stick and threw it at me. I had just bent over and dipped my 4" paintbrush into the gallon bucket of white paint when he called my name. "Hey Skinner" he said, as soon as I stood up I see something flash in front of me and then I felt a thump on my upper chest at the base of my throat. I look down and there is this big fanged spider attached to me staring point blank into my eyes. It all happened very fast after that. It was all reaction and no thought process. It never occurred to me that a paint brush was in my hand. I started smacking myself in the mouth, neck, & chest with that brush. Must have hit myself 20+ times in 5 seconds. I was covered in white paint from my nose to my belly. My good buddy was literally rolling on the ground laughing. Ha ha, real funny azzhole. I suppose though, I would have been LMAO too if the roles had been reversed. FYI - white paint doesn't taste very good.

I've got a good spider story. The set-up is that we (me, my son, sister, bro-in-law, nephew, and niece) were staying at the shack next to the creek in OK. The land owner has a canoe that he lets us use at his cabin. On the road back to the shack, we cross the creek that goes by the shack. So, I dropped my sister off at the crossing to paddle the canoe up the creek. (I gave her the option to paddle or drive the truck, she chose to paddle) I get back to camp, and she had not arrived yet, so I decide to swim down the creek and meet her so she would not have to paddle solo so far. I met her at a shallow spot, so we decided to half sink the canoe to wash it out before continuing on. There was a huge clump of mud dauber nest that didn't come off, so I gabbed it and popped it off of the inside of the canoe. As I turned it over, I now have in my hands a crumbled, muddy mass of mud dauber nest and about two dozen Black Widows! I scream, toss the handful of death, and start splashing the water to try and get it away. My sister, unaware of what the hell is going on is looking at me like I've lost my mind and asks what the hell. I told her that I had just tossed a handful of Black widows into the water and she starts screaming and splashing. "Where the hell did they go!?!" So here we are, two grown adults screaming and splashing in waist deep water in the creek, trying to drag a canoe half filled with water away from a ball of death that we can no longer see, all the while slipping and falling on the moss covered rocks. It was a sight to see I am sure. After I got home, I did some research, and it seems that black widows are the preferred prey of a certain species of mud daubers. They kill the spiders and put them in the nest for the larvae to eat as they mature. I no longer knock down mud dauber nests indiscriminately.
