I’ve collected a few old reloading manuals. One of my oldest is Speer #8 from 1970.

Very interesting to see how different the cartridge list is from today.

They actually had 6.5 cartridges 50 years ago.

I have a friend who just built a .25-284 and he’s been getting impressive velocities and accuracy.

I never realized it was a wildcat 50 years ago.

Lots of wildcaters in the 20s onward that a new case came out and it got necked up or down to about every caliber and sometimes improved to hold more powder.

You should thumb through a P.O. Ackley book. All kinds of stuff in there.

I own a 7mm-08 A.I. and a .223 A.I. Have also loaded and shot .280 A.I.

The .223 A.I. is just stupid fast, and tight shooting. It is my most fun rifle to shoot.

The list may be older, but there's a LOT of very useful cartridges on that list.

Graybeard Challenge: how many of the listed rifle cartridges have you at least shot (if not OWNED). I've pulled the trigger on 40 of the 59 listed...

How about you? Heck, a bunch of these geriatrics even have RIMS! cool

Only 7 on that rifle list.

Although I'm tempted to build a customer 7.7 Japanese. grin

My oldest manual is from the 50’s. Authored by Elmer Keith.

If I obtain a rifle that is in a caliber I haven’t previously had, I generally buy a One Shot manual. I have quite a few of them.

29 here. And I’m a millennial. I guess that’s what happens when your dad is a handloader. Lol

39 here, on the list but several others I have reloaded for that are not on the list that could have been at that time.

Ive shot 21 of them. Some only as few as 1 time.

My one and only shot with the triple deuce was 225 yards by moonlight headshot on a hog.
