Got the meat back from the new processor. 56lbs straight deer ground and cutlets minus 12.5 lbs they used to make 25 lbs of sausage is what I got back. He was a big boy.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

My wife looked at my post and asked me why I didn't tell the story. I said "it might get me in trouble if I told it and you read it." It was Friday afternoon with cool weather already here and my buddy said it was frosty that morning with bucks running amok. I told my wife with us being so busy lately I hadn't winterized the place and I should go up make sure the tanks were drained and pipes were wrapped. She asked "Why are you taking your rifle then?" I told her last time I went with out my rifle pigs were everywhere and I had nothing to shoot at them with. "Okay then your just going to make sure things are good right then come home?" me "Yep, that's the plan." Well I got there Friday night change the light in the well house to a heat lamp, drank a beer then checked the pipes, drank a beer, pumped out the tanks, drank a few beers and went to bed around midnight. I got up just before daylight and got in the truck and the windows were frosted. I thought I'd like to see what has been coming to the feeder so I went to the blind and sat. It was almost 9 and nothing was moving so I decided to go but just as I was about to get up I saw an ear twitch in the high grass. I sat back down pulled up my binoculars to glass but he was gone. I turn towards the feeder and there he was. I had not seen him before and he was more mature than any of the regulars, which had not shown up. I figure he either pushed them off or they were out running does. Like I said before. It's been a busy year and being uncertain of my next chance to hunt I let one fly and watched him drop. I took a picture and sent it to my wife and she responded " I thought you were working." "but i finihsed" Well laid plan And nice buck!
