I'm 56 and been a bird hunter all my life (upland and recently got in to waterfowl a little), plus I like to take all the pigs I can. But I've never desired to go after bigger game. Buddy finally convinced me to give the Xbow a try for deer (I know that's not a real bow for you purists). It was a blast watching all of the deer around me for 3 days, but all does and smaller bucks. On the 3rd evening, this one finally came by and I got lucky and made a near perfect shot. I will admit my heart was racing just a TAD more than my other hunting adventures.

As far as crossbow and other bows to hunt with, crossbows are older than compound bows by a long time. Welcome to Archery deer hunting and have fun, doesn't matter the bow ewther traditional. crossbow or compound. The object of the sport is to have fun and enjoythe fruits of that fun.
