Our goal this weekend is to shoot does. Here, we can only shoot does the first 2 weeks, and we won't be back until after Thanksgiving. I shot a doe this morning (500 yard shot as I pat myself on the back, but that's a different story). Tonight my son takes a 120 yard shot and pulls it. She hunches her back as she's headed out of there. I knew he gut shot her. I tell him to shoot her again quickly. He composes himself in a hurry and makes a perfect 2nd shot. She only went about 5 yards. Even better, he's finally at the point where he's more of a help than a hindrance when it comes to cleaning them. I think I've done well!

Good job both of ya!

That's awesome, congrats! We have to keep involving our young hunters as much as possible. They are the future of our way of life and they will no doubt have increasing challenges ahead of them. Keep them hunting!
