I do, I’ve made fried meat pies. I use egg & a fork to seal them.

We have made meat pies in the past, but never used a press. A 6 inch circle of pie dough one half filled with meat, the other half flipped over to cover it. Sealed with egg and pinched together. Baked or fired.

Meat pie is just another name for an Empanada right? I do what skinner mentioned. Close with a fork, but I don't use any egg. you can also roll the edges with your finger if you have some reason for it to look fancy. I make a lot of empanadas. Dove popper empanadas, mango/chipotle duck empanadas, brisket, etc. I've never heard of a press but after a quick google search I would think a fork would be easier. You can hold all the ingredients in while you close it.

I just buy the premade empanada dough rounds at HEB, then as mentioned above, a little egg/water water, crimp with a fork. The I will bake or fry them.

We use these over a camp fire. Use bread or tortillas. Quick and tasty.

Yes Sir. Empanada en Espanol, meat pies in Louisiana and pretty much everywhere else. I like to use seasoned ground venison or feral pork (or mixed), onions/garlic/peppers/green onions etc with lots of pepper jack. Also picadillo is a great filler.

Yours look great BTW. cheers

We make 6-10 doz each Christmas Season for various friends and such. I bought a 3 press kit from Amazon a couple of yrs back and they do a very good job. Got int Natchitoches Meat Pies many years ago and our kids really enjoy them.
