Ramboulet. Livestock type sheep that are sheared for their wool.

Merino- Ramboulet really does not matter. They are both sheep raised for their wool.

Yah I was thinking Merino. Not sure TX Dall have wool like that, but it has been a while since I've killed sheep and rams.

First one looks more like a Rambouillet (I raise them), the second more like a Merino. As Don posted, both are wool sheep and used to be very popular in Texas. Both most likely descended from the same ancestor. Rambouillet are typically smoother-hided, more muscled, and less greasy. Merinos tend to have wrinkles, lots of grease in their wool, but exceptionally fine wool that is prized.

Looks like Rambouillet to me. Worked a Rambouillet ranch many years ago. Cording the wool and shearing can be quite a job!

Texas Dall is a hair sheep. These are wool sheep. Both are very nice, but I'm not sure if they are different or both the same breed and agree with the others who said Rambouillet or Merino.
