Those of you that hunt in Young, Stephens or Palo Pinto counties...seeing any rut activity? Was in Stephens county this weekend, and it looked sort of like there was rutting, but the ladies weren't really interested. Makes sense.

Anyone else see anything different?

I'm below you in Erath. Lots of chasing, mostly younger bucks. The morning hunts have been better than the warm evening hunts for us. Mature deer are making scrapes and generally cruising. The biggest deer we've ever killed on our land made that mistake this morning. He was the 4th buck to come out and cruise the hollow below my house, and I shot him. He's at Kenny Fred's in Bluff dale being processed and caped. This morning was unreal with deer running everywhere. It's only going to get better, usually up until Thanksgiving. Good luck.

Bucks were chasing in Young County. Saw several pushing does right in the middle of the day.

I have seen several bucks chasing. Last Friday, I seen 5 bucks chasing a doe. Only 2 were mature bucks, but one had the others run off from the doe.

For sure. That'll kick it in to high gear.

Throckmorton county. Younger bucks chasing non-recepitive does. Mature bucks working scrapes. Anytime now! [Linked Image]
