I forgot the key chain with all the keys to open everything. Without the keys... no way to unlock the travel trailer, a shed (with chairs/gear), ATVs, tractor, etc.

Fortunately, my travel trailer had one of the cubbies I could pry open easily due to the latch being loose. Emptied everything out and ended up having my buddy (who is smaller than me) crawl through and open the door. That was after we ran into town to get a socket wrench to manually open the slide-out just so we could get to the door.

Funny... the door wouldn't unlock without a key so we had to keep it slightly open when we were out. We also accidentally closed the door several times and had to crawl through the cubby again to get back into the travel trailer.

Learned to keep my keys in my hunting backpack. Hopefully... I won't forget the backpack grin

I forgot the key to my buggy once last year. Scratched the pickup up on that trip.

Not last year but many years ago I was going hunting outside of Big Wells.
I was supposed to take a half day off but got held up on a few things. I quickly threw everything in my truck and took off for the 400 mile drive.
Got down there close to midnight and met up with my friends. Had a couple beers and went to sleep.
Got up in the morning to hunt and that's when I realized I left the briefcase with all the ammo for the eight various guns I had brought.

One year, I was on a business trip that would take me close to the lease. I decided to take a full day off and hunt. Got to the lease and pulled my rifle out of the truck, and started searching for my hunting clothes and jacket. DOH!! I ended up hunting in a suit and dress shoes. It was cold too.

Several years ago I was all packed up on Friday morning, after preparing for two days, with very little to no room left in the truck for anything. As I was getting in the truck my wife kiddingly said "got your gun"? A very strange, perplexed look came across my face as I did not remember packing the rifle. I went in to check and sure nuff the rifle was still safely stored in the house. Of course, every year since, she asks if I have my gun. But, that's ok.

Got to the stand with my boy and I forgot his shells. Wouldn't have been that bad, but I require only walking to our stand and it is seriously hilly......left my phone with him, ran back to the truck and told him not to use it unless it was an emergency. An emergency for him is texting his momma to let her know all the bad words Daddy said when he forgets the shells.

I also forgot the keys to the camper......TWICE.

Boots on more than one occasion hunted in sneakers and crocs a couple times. Now I just leave a pair in the rv. Also forgot ammo once had to swing by a pawn shop and pay premium for a box.

Didn’t happen to me but my dad got to opening of bow season last year so amped up for the hunt in the morning. He started putting all of his stuff in the Ranger to head out from camp, and I heard a string of profanity that still hangs over Lake Michigan. He remembered the crossbow bolts but totally forgot his broadheads… DOH

Not to long ago I hooked up the trailer and went and bought two tons of corn to fill up the feeders. I drove to the ranch only to realize I left the keys to the side by side at home. I can’t get to most my feeders in a pickup. I unhooked the trailer and did what I could.

I was 18 when I left my shotgun at home and drove to West Monroe, La to duck hunt for a week. Ended up buying a cheap Mossberg 835 and hated it, so I bought the exact Beretta Extrema that I had left at home. Great way to spend $2000 bang

I forgot my binoculars 3 times, that's it as far as I can remember. Everything else stays packed in my truck so I don't forget.

Have never forgot things like guns/ammo/knives....it's always the stupid chit like binos, garlic powder, onion powder etc.

Couple years ago, I forgot everything for skinning and quartering the deer. I normally have a couple different knives, a saw, and small loppers.

I ended up using the only knife I had, a 3" kershaw pocketknife. Forced me to separate all of the knee joints with a knife. Didn't turn out too bad.

GATE KEYS! We found a way around and made it to camp, luckily there was a hidden key for camp house.

Once left my pistol case with Contender & 3 barrels in a cabin in East TX. I drove 3 hours there and 3 hrs back Monday afternoon to go get them.

I broke my foot last year, so I bought an electric bike to hunt off of before season last year. Broke foot or not best hunting money I ever spent. Worked out really good last year.

Went to put it on the charger this morning getting ready for tomorrow morning and realized my charger was on my work bench at my house in League City. Looks like I drive the old Tahoe in and hoof it.

Ordered another charger on Amazon, will be here Tuesday or Wed.

I’m sure I forgot something else, just not sure what.

Thanks, Billy

We only have hang on tree stands and I have one my friends call the Postage Stamp. It is about 25' up and is on the small size. I got to the tree, put my safety harness on and that is when I noticed I didn't bring the rope that goes around the tree. I climbed up anyway (was way younger then), hung my bow on the holder to try and hunt. After about 5 minutes, it was back to the ground and looking for a stump to set on.

Driving down I-20 this afternoon I counted 10+ blinds & double that amount of new feeders heading down the road. I always chuckle each year seeing the day before setups. Guess you do what you have to do sometimes.
