Anyone have any tips or leads on sandhill crane decoys? Considering making my own, buying some (if reasonable or used) or would love to borrow some from a fellow hunter if anyone is open to it

Knutsons sells them. Sillosox makes one version of them. You can Google crane decoys and find other real expensive options too. I have about 75 mixed used crane decoys I accumulated over time from ebay and online classifieds, but it's going to be hard to find any used ones this time of year. Keep your eye out after season when people decide to get rid of them. Sorry mine are not for sale or loan. At least not unless I chaperone them. They are hard to decoy. Sometimes it's easier to catch them coming or going from a field and pass shoot them. BTW Cranes are already in Young county where I am right now.

I’ve been buying a few decoys in hopes of running out west to try and freelance some birds. I have a dozen silos and a dozen socks. If you’ve got cranes, I can travel!

Wasn't there some guy on here last year telling people to get pink flamingo yard decoys and spray paint them gray. Sure that will work.
Deception makes a great looking crane decoy, you will pay for them as well.

Where are you located? I’ve got 5 dozen deceptions I’ll rent for $200/day.

Thanks, I hunt in Briscoe county/Silverton. I think I’m gonna try the flamingo or home made silhouette route. Trying to keep the cost low

Divebomb is probably the cheapest route for real decoys.

We use them with good success
