A friend and fellow officer has passed away this morning. Sherman was ambushed responding to a domestic on Monday, his vest caught a couple rounds but he got hit in the hip hitting the femoral. He bled a lot and had to get over 12 units of blood which caused his kidneys problems. Yesterday they amputated his leg at the hip because it was dying and he went downhill after that. Sherman had retired years ago and came back to the job getting sworn back in the day I started. He was a great man, easy to get along with and like and a great officer too. Prayers for the family, and I am sorry for your loss. I firmly believe that it should be an automatic death penalty for anyone that kills a police officer or first responder.
