48 degrees and a light rain at 1:00 PM in Menard today. Yesterday evening a 125" three year old buck was tending a doe around my dog kennels and house. Really a pretty young eight point in good body condition. I am guessing that the recent rains along with the acorns flushed the does and had this one cycling early.
I tried to get a photo but the rascal would not leave the cover of the oak brush for me.
Adios,
Gary

I saw a doe cross the road yesterday at 1pm just outside of Marble Falls. Along came a wide mature 10pt chasing her up and over the fence. Yes I believe she was in an early cycle.
