I agree with 5. Have 100’s of pics of him. Actually had him younger a few weeks ago.

I agree with 5. Have 100’s of pics of him. Actually had him younger a few weeks ago.
Hope to put my daughter on him. Those large round stained tarsal glands and stripes/bars on the forehead are what I go by for 5 yr olds this time of the year. Right before the rut is the best time to age them I think. Other times the can be aged but they really look their age right before the rut. Good luck

Nice looking deer and looks 5.5 all day long to me.
Tarsal glands in 2nd pic you posted say he isn't any younger than that to me
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

That neck looks like a roided up body builder. Easily 5.5. Posturing bucks or bucks in really cold temps with hair coat fluffed up to hold heat always look much older than they may be. Funny how they change their look and when. Those two pics are 12 hours apart and the temp reads the same in both. Camera tone makes a difference too.
