I’ve been wanting to build a new workbench with table saw, miter saw, planer, jointer, router, and dust collection all built in. My “job site” ryobi wasn’t gonna cut it and wanted a new heavy duty cast iron American made saw. Of course I don’t have thousands to spend so I’ve been trolling online trying to find one used. From everything I’ve been reading most of the wood working forums recommended an old Craftsman 113.xxxx for a good table saw that will last a life time and with a few mods will run with the big boys. I don’t have FB so I asked my wife to look on market place for me. She just took screenshots of all of the saws and boom an old Craftsman 113 15 minutes west of me. Has a custom built fence the owner had put on it, he was an engineer, has a cross cut sled already built. Really only thing I’ll want to do is replace the pulleys with machined steel from the cast pulleys and change the rubber belt to a link belt.

Dated the serial and it’s built in 1996 in USA. Yea it needs a little cleaning up on the cast iron, but overall in really good shape for being almost 30 years old.

Wanting to build something similar to this but probably wider so the table saw and miter say don’t interfere with each other.

The way you keep them from interfering is have the kit on a revolving shelf. When not in use it swings down under the table for storage.

Yea I’ve seen a couple of those and really like the design so when not in use have the entire work bench table top. Just don’t know if all the cutouts will interfere with the t tracks I plan on having on the work bench top.

I helped design and build one with a friend a few years ago, he had all Jet brand tool and need a single work station like what you have pictured. It wasn’t an easy build. We used a lot of steel in the build along with wood. He has storage for parts and small tools on one side, all power tools on the other. It can be completely flat or he can have all tools raised at the same time. The only thing not mounted on it was the Jet dust collection. The air compressor was mounted in the middle and never seen and barely heard. He probably had $50,000 worth of tools in it. He mounted a winch to his shop floor to pull it back in. His was 8x20 I believe

On the cast iron.

Knotted cup brush on a 4 1/2" angle grinder. It will look brand new.

I have tried several types of oil to keep it from rusting again. The last thing I did has worked the longest. Past car wax, apply, dry, buff just like you would car paint.

I would skip integrating the table saw into any other table. It needs to stand alone as it's own thing. Build or buy a mobile base for the saw, with locking casters. Build an outfeed table that will connect to the saw, with a melamine top. Melamine is slick, especially with saw dust on it. And it takes years to wear it out. You may never replace it. Or find some old conveyer rollers. I have conveyer rollers.

Keep it mobile, keep it modular. I didn't always have a shop as big as the one I have now.

Thanks I’ll get on it with my grinder with a brush and see what it looks like. I was reading today about the wax stuff and it seems to work pretty good. Really wanted the table saw entergrated into the setup for the table to act as an out feed for the saw. The saw actually came with a wood base with locking casters so I can move it around pretty easy at the moment.

Haha yea that’s way more than I’m wanting, needing, or could afford haha. Bet it’s bad [censored] though.

If you integrate it into that assembly table, then what do you do to the things on the assembly table when you are running an 8' long sheet down the table saw? You move all that stuff. Now you have an outfeed table.

What happens when you need to assemble some things? You move what parts you have back onto the table and build.

Then what happens when you need an outfeed table again? You move everything off the assembly table. What about needing to rip a 16' long board? Still got enough outfeed for that?

You have a table saw capable of big things and you are about to set it up with limitations.

Well finally got a little time to work on my bench. Sketched it up in a CAD program. Got all the dust collection pipes and electricity ran to all sides of the vents with dust gates. Router table integrated into the end of the bench. Plan on doing drawers, cabinets, and shelves for storing small things and the bench top jointer and planer.

Will be building out of 2x4's and white Melamine. Will be painting the 2x4's black. I bought 480 inches of black T Track, so figured I'd stick with the theme. Still have a few measurements to workout, but I'm pretty close. Table saw will mate up to the end with the recessed base to be used as an outfeed table, but still able to move independently from one another.

Plenty of videos on YouTube for these kind of tables. They look cool and see very functional.

Looking a lot better than it did when I got it. Got the top all cleaned up, the stainless pulleys installed, and the new link belt on. Thing is WAY more quiet than my “job site” table saw.

Coming together finally. Still got a lot of finishing to do. Lots of sanding, building the doors for the cabinets, all the drawers, routing in the t track and routing table, running all the electrical and dust collection hoses, routing the bench top edges, then all the white trim for the MDF ends.

Changed a bit from the CAD drawings I did but still pretty close.

Still need to square up the door openings and get the doors and dreamers made, then all the t tracks and router table installed.

But it’s nice I can actually use it with my phone able saw for out feed now.

Dammit I need a bitter shop than my garage.
