Got a big fat 200 lb Boar last night in daylight at about 6:20 pm . He was walking away from me down the path and took a 200 grain round nose bullet from a Marlin lever in 35 Rem in the behind at about 130 yards . It traveled forward and broke his spine near the shoulders .

I am thinking about going really low tech and old . I had one of my Gew-88 rifles that was made in 1891 out at the range the other day . I went 5 for 5 with a 6 inch gong at 250 yards and 2 for 2 on the 350 yard 6 inch gong with a 197 grain 8 mm bullet load with the iron sights . I have pigs out in the day time and a 375 yard shot on them from a blind . I will try this Friday afternoon .

Nice, no tracking involved.

I have two unwritten rules:
1.
2.

Almost with the Gew-88 . Had a big one start across the field to the feeder . The wind was wrong and he thought better of it at about 600 yards and headed back where he came from . I did catch a herd later at night with a modern rifle and thermal .
