Intended to get a meat doe. Lined up the 2018? PSE 350 Fang on the selected doe @ 20 yds, pushed safety off and squeezed the trigger. Nothing, Remounted arrow, Nothing. Well... after she left, I used rope to pull against string again to reset and reloaded arrow. After the sit was over back at the house, it fired my de-loading arrow with no problem. Not sure what the problem is/was. Suggestions?

My Centerpoint Sniper did the same thing last year. If I remember correctly, I think I figured out the problem was that somehow the safety was on BEFORE I c.ocked the thing. Like you, I had to re-c.ock it again after removing the bolt. Something in that bolt-sensor-safety combination got out of sync.

Yup, for most crossbows you need to have the bow in the fire position and let it put it in safety or the firing mechanism is not fully set. It is a safety thing but has cost more than one a chance at their game. They usually only do that once though and learn. I do not know how many crossbows were brought back in looking like they were ready to fire but would not. Tenpoint and Excalibur often it would be on the dryfire pegs and not fully cocked. Excalibur is the only crossbow brand that it does not matter if if the safety is on or not when you get it ready, just remember to put it on Safety if it was not.

I touch the safety only to fire or put it bac on safe if I decide not to shoot. You shoot it and the bow is safe no matter where the safety position is so might as well leave it on fire after discharging it so you are ready to go for the next time without thinking, but I still check it before getting ready.

Owners manual says to pull trigger prior to c.ockking the bow to insure safety position is where it should be. I habitually do this, but maybe not this time, or else this magic trick didn't work. Anyway, not on a record book monster, so unless it recurs, not a big deal to me. Thanks for the replies! Jack

Live and learn and move on.

Waiting for mr right to come along this year. Have popped three pigs so far this season, but the xbow wants to eat some venison. I will pop some doe later in the season for sure.
