I hope everyone is having a good season so far! I’m going to do a few more tracks for the public with Lucy this season. If anyone needs helping finding a deer give me a call. Easy tracks are even appreciated. I'm just trying to get my hound on as many tracks as possible. I am located in Parker County, but willing to travel a couple of hours.

If I think the track requires a more experienced dog, I have plenty of contacts of reputable trackers.

My name is Garrett Young and my number is (817)897-6911. You can Call or Text me at anytime. Please share with your friends. Thanks in advance!

Good looking pup OP!

Go have some cards made and post them in local feed stores and you will probably drum up more work than you want.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Good luck! We will keep you in mind.

I have a youngish dog I am trying to work on some tracks this season too. She has been great on tracks less than 8 hours old, but we lost a leg shot deer last year that went down a nasty canyon that we didn’t feel comfortable going into until daylight. Definitely would’ve helped to have a another or a more experienced dog at the time.

Thanks for the interest! I need more friends that are bad shots hahaha.

DoubleACRanch what kind of pup do you have? We have done real tracks up to 14 hours so far and when I first started training she did 24 hour old mock tracks.

It’s always fun to watch a dog work!

Good idea. I took a tracking guy's card from the feed store in Menard, just to show the picture on it to my dog so she'd know what a blue lacy is actually supposed to do. grin

A rather unconventional tracking breed. She is a Great Pyrenees/Alaskan Malamute mix. Her longest trail was actually her first. A friend shot a buck through the knee after the shot ricochet on a hog wire. No blood within a 75yd radius and it was 30 degrees and pouring rain so I thought might as well see if the dog had a better nose than we did. She is just my companion dog so wasn’t expecting much. Sure enough she got on the trail, found first blood at 150yds and after 800yds, 2 jumps, and about 6 hours later we were able to get the buck down. As you can imagine, she was the only one who wasn’t freezing.

Since then we have ran into the same problem as you, not enough deer running more than 50yds.

It sounds like he is in Rye, Texas judging from 4J's post.

AledoGYo I going to keep your post. I have a lease in Eastland County about an hour and 20 minutes from you. If I can't find one I'll give you a call.
