Too bad those have been on backorder since dirt was a child...they are good scopes.

Both around 350 to 400 dollars. Consider a Bushnell as well. They, too, have a lifetime warranty, and for a scope that's gonna be beaten around a bit, it will be nice to have one that you can ship make to the maker and have them fix it for free!

Of the two, I would choose the Burris. I have a Burris Veracity and a fullfield. Very good scopes and I am happy with both. The only gripe that I would have on the Burris scopes is that they are heavy.

Just bought a Fullfield IV 2.5-10 for $169 to fulfill a similar role. I already have a FF2 E1 3x9 on another rifle and it's been very solid.

I just bought a Bushnell 4.5 X18 40 mm AR scope with the illuminated windage reticle so far looks real good for my needs on the Grendel.
For $220 good value.

Hard to beat a Leupold rifleman for 200 That day is long gone! I believe the "Rifleman" model is no longer made and Leupold's pricing starts at $299 now for the "Freedom" series.

Be aware that the newest production Burris scopes are made in CHINA if that makes any difference to you. I too was going to purchase a Burris till I found this out.

I recently purchased from Academy their revamped "store branded" Redfield Rebel 4-12x40. I bought the scope knowing that it is China made exclusively for Academy. I will be mounting it on my Remington 700 BDL 222 but haven't had the time to do so yet. Overall it appears to be very clear and gathers light nicely, AGAIN I know that it is a $113.00 (on sale) Chinese made scope and I am not in anyway suggesting that it compares to Leupold nor any other premium scope. I am just a die hard fan of the Redfield's of long ago and just couldn't resist this little experiment. That said the Burris Fullfield II and Droptine (of which I have many of each) seem to offer a good balance between quality and price on the economical side of things.

I ended up not buying either one, but am enjoying the feedback. I still need a scope for a 6.5 grendel AR. I’m not spending 1000 on this scope.

Vortex Diamondback series is the best "bang for the buck" optic in my opinion. Backfire did a great "Best Sub-$500 Scope" video that came to the same conclusion. For high end, I tend to go Leupold, and lower end, Vortex.
