I'm just looking for some Sightron SII opinions.
In particular, the following: https://cameralandny.com/shop/sight...n=3096415&query=Clearance%20Specials

Back story: I've gotten comfortable switching scopes between rifles. It's much more repeatable than I initially imagined. I've had this idea about getting a very high maginification scope for ammo testing or sitting purely shooting groups. This seems to fit the bill. The scope I use the most now is my swfa 5-20.

Any thoughts?

I’ve only had one experience with sightron and they didn’t know to call it the S1 back then. Excellent scope for the price back in the late 90s and if they haven’t changed, still a great scope. I would never hesitate with a Sightron.

Sightron makes some great scopes, I have 3 SIII series and an old SII series. They track as well as any of my $2k+ scopes, and the glass quality is really good.
The only negative points that I've ever had with Sightron is they are always years behind the curve when it comes to offering things that are standard with newer scopes like great reticle choices, zero stop, illuminated reticle, etc..

Sightron's customer service is top notch. A few years ago, the elevation turret stem on my SII scope came loose from years of abuse, and they repaired it quickly, no questions asked, and sent me a bunch of swag back with the scope.

I'm with Txhillbilly, I have 4 SIIIs and I am very happy with them. They don't have all the features of some scopes but they do the important things well. They are dependable, track well and glass is very good. As mentioned above they are made in Japan. That's a good deal especially since its got a zero stop. I will say that the zero stop is not the best I've used but is simple and functional. You won't find a better scope for that price or even more.

I bought an older (used) SII and promptly sold it. I honestly preferred the glass in a weaver classic, Burris full field, Mueller apv, sightron s1h, Leupold vxi. Turrets felt great though. I hear the S3 has much better glass though.aybe I had a bad one. Sightron said they would look it over for me, but it was going to cost $20 or so to ship it to them. And I found i wasn't a fan of mildot anyway.

I have several scopes and binoculars. For the price, I consider them over achievers.

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like not many have opinions on Sightron. I am going to get this thing based on the above.

We are running some very heavily discounted sales on Sightron scopes through the end of the year

I totally agree that it's "heavily discounted." Was one of the main reasons why especially considering it comes with some very usable rings. I hate when retailers bundle unusable junk. Warne ain't my favorite but I have a few and trust them.

Look forward to using this.

I recently bought my first (setting up grandson rifle), won't buy anything else.
