Looking for somewhere within 2hrs of dfw to lease to get my son some time deer and hog hunting. I'm willing to pay an annual lease. I spent years on a lease near Ballinger it just seemed too far. I never thought I'd have so much trouble finding a place to hunt. Not interested in high dollar high fence stuff (blue collar family)

Please let me know. I don't Check THF much so here is my number

214-298-9664 call or text.

Thanks

JR

Good way to get him a hunt or two. https://tyhp.org

https://tpwd.texas.gov/huntwild/hunt/youth_hunting/tx_youth_hunt_program/

He will have to have hunters safety and is available for kids 9 through 16. First time applicants get preference on deer hunts for selection to the hunts.

Also at TYHP get on the short notice list. This is for when other kids/families back out at the last minute and they need to fill the spot. My boys when young had a great time hunting with TYHP.

I wouldn't count on your phone ringing much if you're expecting folks to call you for a lease opening, but I do wish you luck.

TYHP is a good option for a hunt maybe two a year if you're lucky. Most hunts are south of DFW or at least they were.

You can also look for a day lease. This will give you one morning & one evening hunt for a doe or smaller buck. I've done this in the past most pricing is $200-300.00 per day.
Look into the TYHP it's your best shot.
