I don’t think I’ve seen it here, but the Flagg Group out of Dallas is closing. Friend took a bobcat there and they said they stopped taking new orders 2-3 weeks ago. Closure is not listed on their website at this point and they mentioned to was due to labor shortages and other pandemic related issues.

We have been using Flagg for 20+ years and felt they were the best and most consistent in Dallas. Does anyone know of a quality taxidermy out of Dallas or DFW? We have used a few of the local shops on the way to our ranch outside of Graham for euros and were not thrilled with the level of quality. I took a bobcat to Alpine in FT Worth and was very happy, but haven’t seen a lot of their work outside of that.

Austin is not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Does excellent work. And is a good guy. US veteran as well. Turn around time is average.

Been using Alpine for years and have always been happy with his work. If you were happy with your bobcat why not use them.

Sorry to hear Flagg is shutting down. They've done both whitetail & mule deer for me & I always thought their work was museum quality. If you don't mind another 45 minute drive, there is what I call a wildlife artist(notch up from museum) at Alexanders Taxidermy in Trenton.

@Erny - i just like having a few options. I’m at the point where I’m likely not getting anything mounted outside of euros unless it’s special. If something special decides to hop along, I don’t want to be scrambling trying to figure it out then.

I noticed their (Flagg's) booth years ago at a DSC show and it was pretty pitiful compared to the others back then. Old codger in the booth that looked like he didn't really give a rat's patootie. No problem, plenty of other fish in the sea.

I’ll vouch for MC Taxidermy for Euro mounts. Good work at a great price with quick turn around.

Flagg had a great Run, I've used them for MANY Years. After Bill Flagg Died, Mary and her husband took over. They still did fantastic work. Time took its toll and Covid, no employees.

Doesn't surprise me. Bill Flagg never bounced back after their terrible fire. His wife Dorothy lived here (Frisco Lakes) and I spoke with here every weekend at the pool. She was quite the partier. GREAT stories.

Too Bad they have succumbed to the economy.

Many Taxis are hurting right now with many not accepting work till they can get caught up. Pretty good on them not just taking some ones money for a mount.

JR's Taxidermy in Keller is where I have sent all my work over the past 4 or 5 years (deer, ducks, pheasant, chukar, bobcat, racoon, stag) great guy does a great job! 817-480-2966

I also endorse Alpine. I'd use more, but location is not convenient for me. I'd also recommend Outpost up in Aubrey. They do good work.

Yep, Alpine. My family has had a lot of deer done there. Happy with all of them.
