I don't do a whole lot of bird mounts as I wanted to in the past. This is probably my most favored out of them all. East Matty bay south shoreline. My wife had trouble connecting so we went and got set up. I set behind her and told her to shoot the water the hole in the decoys to get an idea of how much spread she was working with at 20 yards. She fired and it gave her a good inclination. I quickly told her to load up because there was a wolf pack of redheads that were locked on the deeks coming right up the diver lines to the hole. She swung out too far in front of the bull redhead leading the pack and missed. This added to her frustration about her swing issues. I told her load the gun because there is another wolf pack coming. Again there was a bull redhead right out front. I reminded her, "Smooth, start swinging behind the bird, don't stop and when you see the beak, squeeze". She crushed that bull, so much so he skipped twice when he hit the water. She loaded up again and 30 seconds later she folded another good bull. I couldn't resist these two going for a dead mount. Truly an awesome day in the blind.

Cool. The Peters shell boxes really round out the look.

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

The most important part of a good mount is the story behind it. Awesome story and stud bulls.
