If ducks were killed I was there. Lake's looking good right now. Enough ducks in the area that we can just set that sucker up on the main lake drop off and catch slab crappie while we pile up the ducks..

Fit right in? Who do you think I learned it from? We've been dropping spoons before you even started duck hunting rifle

Everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. It's really the easiest place to shoot them.

I do have a necklace with 6 spoon bills on it. I've had it since I was 8 or 9. Might have to break it out for the opener. Couldn't keep these green headed birds out of my spread last year. Funniest looking spoonies I've ever seen. Usually they don't have a yellow bill. [Linked Image]

I think I took that picture. That log looks familiar..

Really glad there were no spoonies or ringer hens that morning.

I will admit it was my fault we did not get our 15 greenheads that morning. It took a few volleys before I realized my gun was frozen. I thought each volley I did not flip my safty off, but took me a few rounds and tdogg cuzing me out my gun was frozen. Lol

I take you out in my boat, to my spot, and all you had to do was pull the trigger. You couldn't even do that. Tough to find good help nowadays, heck Tara could've grabbed the first 6 ducks herself. They definitely don't make them like they used to. GR and WAL would've smacked a limit and been eating Allsups burrito's by 9:00.

That's actually at the same lake WAL was talking about. Like GR said water level is looking good right now. Going to get the rig out there Thursday before so we can hold down the spot. It's loaded up right now. No big fronts between now and then so it should be on.

True that it is public. You had never hunted that lake or spot before so call it what you want. Here's the pic of the last time we took your rig out.We smoked'em!

You never hunted that lake either, we scouted it together for the first time, but I had that lake on my radar for years, mohunter and I talked about years ago, he did scout it. Those were the only birds on the lake, we got luck to find them.

Don’t give me that “my spot” business, that’s for kids. Oh, wait…

Don’t you forget that it was my cousins wife’s brother that showed us.

You got me there. I was only culling out the trash ducks so we could lay the hammer on the good ones the next weekend. That's just being a good hunting partner.

Just because we didn't shoot any ringer hens that day doesn't mean it wasn't your boat. I think the old age is getting to ya.

My daughter is 23, single, has a good job and is a good cook. Do either of you have an eligible son that she might like? If so then we could meet and hunt that unknow lake together and keep it in the family.

Just to finish the story. You wanted to leave before we scouted that spot. I had to make the decision to scout it last minute when you were ready to go back. Pulled up found the ducks and dropped them the next day. Pretty sure you went back 3 days later and got skunked. Maybe it's not the spot....
