So I was wondering where ever one generally lives and how far they have to travel to hunt.

I'm in good ol Tarrant county this month, and typically travel 3hrs for whitetails and 5-9 for mule deer and elk.

Live on the ranch, I can shoot deer off my porch, I don't but I do shoot hogs off my porch, got a feeder set up at 150 yards so the wife can watch deer. Stand hunting my closest is about 400 yards from my house and the farthest is about 2 miles.

Also hunt in Oklahoma about 2.5 hours away.

Ellis County.
Also can shoot here on the creek but all I shoot here is pesky squirrels.

Closest quail that we hunt are three hours away, our other spots are a bit further. Panhandle pheasants are seven hours.

lease is two hours door to door unless you get stuck in S.A. traffic. Starting to use the back way more & more. Adds a fer sure 10 minutes, but you never get stuck in traffic.

Mine is 16 miles from my driveway. I can drive on a caliche road 95% of the way if I want to and check out the deer movement.

Last lease we had was 300 miles....N.W. of Houston to Batesville. Now my stand is 500 yards from the house. I do miss that brush country but it got to be an ordeal driving that far every weekend.

I'm in Palo Pinto County (between Mineral Wells and Santo). I hunt here at the house (5 feeders, 2-10 acre food plots, 3 blinds). Shoot alot of pigs off the porchs in my underwear too. I travel alot for work so never want to go anywhere else to hunt.

Not a thread I would expect Bobo to start. Did someone get ahold of your account? Are you prepping for a poll? Going to write a book?

1 hour 45 minutes to the ranch. 'Used to do 5&1/2 to between Sheffield and Sanderson. I heard last week that the last of the old crew was off that lease. I hope someone else is enjoying it and that square-head LO isn't pulling his hair out 'cause he either didn't get it leased and is out a little money flame, or did get it leased and the group isn't adapting to his rules and decisions that he sometimes changes weekly. grin

Live in far east Bexar County and hunt south central Schleicher County.
222 miles gate to gate. 3 hours if I roll 80-85 all the way down 10 and don't hit any SA traffic which is rare on any weekday at damn near any time now unless it is 9pm to 5am!
eek2

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

DFW to one of my properties is exactly 100 miles from front door to gate, takes about 1:35. The other is about 15 minutes further. Both are for deer, ducks, and hogs.
