Looking for a different way to "carry" in my new truck. My old truck had a divider in the console that make it easy to store a pistol but my new one is just one big hole to throw things. Besides lifting the lid being a pain I don't want to have to search in a pile of stuff if it is needed. So how do you "carry" in your vehicle?

I just leave mine in the soft case, unzipped, standing up in the console.

Had a cheap holster attached to the console between it and the seat where I could reach down and get it easily. Unless looking for it between the seat and holster you would not see it at all and could not see it from outside the truck. Usually there was a Judge with 5 rounds of buckshot in it.

Flip-up console in my truck, the pistol resides under it, between it and the seat. Completely out of sight but easily accessible.

Any reason to not just carry in your holster?

Under seat. Invisible from outside the truck (and inside too) and easy to reach quick.

Had my truck broken into once and they rifled through the console and glove box, but never looked under the seat apparently. Gun still there.

If you are talking about a pistol you should be wearing it.

I have the same. While driving handgun sits in left side in a soft handgun case unzipped. Goes in locked right side if it cannot be carried.

the storage compartment on the inside of the door makes a nice place to keep a weapon handy and in reach.

I just keep in in the holster on my hip. It’s never been hard to find, or stolen, when on my hip.

Most likely that is not legal. Makes no sense but a pistol carried in a vehicle must either be concealed or in a holster. It’s not legal to have a pistol just laying in your seat or visible in any way unless it is in a holster.
