Does anyone use this type of tenderizer? If so, is it easier and/or better than the typical spiked hammer?

My father does, the only plus to me is that using that the meat retains the same shape opposed to hammering it out.

I had a Hobart tenderizer for years, but did not use it enough and sold it. I bought one of these 10derizer knives a while back and really like it. I`ve tenderized 1000`s of pounds of meat and this is as close to the real thing as I`ve seen. Cost about 20 bucks.

I think they are just two different tools rights one for tenderizing and flattening and the other just to tenderize.

Yessr, I have both a mallet and a 48 blade jaccard. They both serve their purpose.

I use the mallet if making schnitzel or pounding out backstrap to make roll-ups or chicken fry etc, I use the jaccard for beef fajitas (skirt steak) and other cuts of meat that I just want to tenderize & marinate.

put your seasoning on first, then work it in with the tenderizer.

I really like this type of penetrating tenderizer, when marinating meats for long periods of time. Really gets the juices into the muscles.

This one really does work well. I bought one about 1.5 yrs ago now and use it often.

I agree with you. I`ve used it on pork, chicken and beef and it does a great job. It cleans up much faster than my Hobart tenderizer did to.
