Was going through my hunting hard drive and found a folder I had put together of a buck we harvested in 2018. It was a buck that we had 7 years of history with, which would put him at likely 8.5yrs old. Cool memory for me and really got me excited for this season where we have another buck that is at least 7 or 8 that we are going after. Some of the camera dates are wrong so I've listed the year. His tall Brows and long curved G2s and G3s were always his defining characteristic. Ended up scoring 137 after a pretty significant decline his last year. When we cleaned him, we found he had 6 broken ribs and basically zero body fat from a tough rut. Despite being as old as he was, I never thought he showed his age as much as some other bucks.

Very very cool for sure

No doubt in the LDP to me he is old as heck but you are right that in the TC pic of him you posted of him that same year he didn't appear nearly as old....at least in that pic.

I'm thinking he may have been 2 in that first pic of him in 2012 and that is why he dropped so much that last year and even the 2nd to the last year. Many he was a stud in 2017!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I have tracked bucks like that over the years and it is a blast - nothing more fun than following one - congrats and great deer!

Love seeing those progression pics. We had one last year we thought was 5 or 6 and was an 8 but had some bumps that wanted to be kickers. This year he’s 6 or 7 and he’s a 10 with 3 kickers. One of the guys may try to kill him and I may post the pics.
Thanks for posting these. It can be very educational and I’m all about learning.

Keep your gratitude higher than your expectations. RWH
