Spouse burned his 17 moose PP for a likely last moose hunt.
The area is not known for trophy bulls se we had low expectations.
He ended up with a young bull as the rut was not on yet. Bigger, mature bulls were still in the dark timber and not hanging with cows .
He took the bull the last morning we had to hunt before a big storm rolled in, 3 1/2 years we believe.
All worked out great and it will taste awesome.

Congrats. Even small moose can be a full sized job. Should be good eating for a year!!!

You aren't kidding. We found out just how old we're getting.

Congratulations!!! That would be a trophy for most to even get a chance.

Looks like a big job for sure.

Had we been able to hunt later in Oct no doubt we could have turned up a bigger bull. During the rut they are pretty much everywhere.
Over 4 days we saw about 7 bulls and 7 cows and calves, give or take.
I know of a 44 inch bull taken earlier in late Sept.

Almost hate to say it but this was our 4th Wyoming moose tag between us. No big bulls but lots of great meat.
This will be spouse's last I bet and I have 5 PP to keep in the draw if WG&F goes to once in a lifetime on moose and 90/10 split on tags for residents and NR.

Some moose country pics.

Good for him getting another bull. I bet the meat will be better since he wasn't in rut. Enjoy your bounty.

No and I did have a bear tag in my pocket. Area has plenty of black bear and a very rare sighting of a grizz or wolf. Also known for big mule deer.

Awesome animal regardless of antler size. Moose is definitely a bucket list hunt for me.
